July 18, 19 & 20: The 9th Edition of the Great Viking Festival!

Many reenactors from all over France, Belgium, and England will join the association’s volunteers to bring to life the civilian and military worlds of 10th-century men and women.

From textile making to combat techniques, from charcoal production to shipbuilding, from jewelry to funeral rites... Come and explore the crafts that shaped their daily lives and the key elements behind the smooth functioning of their communities.

A full Viking-age immersion for the whole family:

• 10th-century Scandinavian crafts (wool work, woodworking, pottery, leather tanning and crafting, coin and jewelry minting, glass spinning, tablet weaving, shield making, beekeeping crafts)

• Combat demonstrations

• Games: treasure hunts and board games

• Interactive storytelling

• Talks on Scandinavian society

• Battle reenactment: The Siege of Paris, 885

And due to its great success last year...

The Ornavik Games are back in 2025!
A series of fun challenges to determine which group takes home the trophy.

Events include:

• Glima (Viking wrestling)

• Knatlekir (a Viking ball and stick game)

• Tug-of-war

• Shield lifting

• Skaldic poetry duels
